Kamala night market, after dark.

The best ฿60 dinner in Phuket, lit by string lights and grill smoke.

Street food

The Kamala night market opens around sunset and runs late. Pad thai cooked over flame, chicken satay with peanut sauce, fresh mango sticky rice, papaya salad pounded to order, and grilled seafood by the kilo.

Go hungry. Bring small notes. Try the Isaan stall at the back, the one with the queue. That's where we eat on our nights off.

It's a 12-minute walk from our front gate, or a quick songthaew ride if you'd rather save your legs for the beach the next morning.
